FAQ
How can Osteopathy help?
Osteopathic care has been found to be of use to people with all types of health concerns including: musculoskeletal issues, spinal health, traumatic injury, digestive irregularity, sleep problems, reproductive issues, respiratory health, and migraines.
How long are treatments?
Initial appointments for adults are around 1 hour in length and start with a review of your medical history and current concerns. Follow ups are either 45 minutes or 30 minutes.
Do you offer direct billing?
I do not! After treatment, I will send you an invoice with my billing number on it so that you can receive insurance reimbursement.
I accept cash, check or e-transfer as payment methods.
Is your clinic space accessible?
Exhale Osteopathy is located on the 2nd floor of 15 Atlantic Avenue. There are 15 steps up to the clinic space and no elevator. I am available by text to help carry strollers/car seats up the stairs! I regret that the space is not wheelchair accessible-please reach out if you need a referral in the Liberty Village area.
Are treatments covered by insurance?
I am a professional member of OSTCAN and therefore accepted by all insurance providers. Please check with your employer benefits to determine if osteopathy is covered under your plan.
Do you work with pregnant people?
Yes! I have worked with many patients throughout their pregnancy.
Do you treat babies?
Yes! I have worked with newborns as young as 6 days old and am truly passionate about working with babies and children. I believe osteopathy is so helpful for unwinding the fascial patterns and nervous systems of little ones after they have entered this world! I have completed a 10 month long Treating Babies Apprenticeship with Dr. Jonathon Evans D.O. of Kindred Academy and Joanne Lynne M.OMSc of Best for Baby University.
What should I expect after treatment?
Sometimes after treatment people feel tired- the body may go into recovery mode and require rest. Sometimes after treatment people feel energized- we have removed restrictions to the structure and the body responds with a surge in vitality! Sometimes after treatment people feel sore, maybe in areas they weren't experiencing pain or sensation in before- we have reorganized the relationship between overworked muscles and started to wake up some muscles that haven't been doing their part!
Please reach out if you have any questions post treatment.
